{"id":1290,"date":"2003-12-08T05:46:51","date_gmt":"2003-12-08T05:46:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bb4p.org\/sites\/?p=1290"},"modified":"2025-12-08T06:06:35","modified_gmt":"2025-12-08T06:06:35","slug":"relevance-of-peace-zones-clubs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bb4p.org\/sites\/relevance-of-peace-zones-clubs\/","title":{"rendered":"The relevance of bb4p peace zones and peace clubs"},"content":{"rendered":"\t\t<div data-elementor-type=\"wp-post\" data-elementor-id=\"1290\" class=\"elementor elementor-1290\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b722470 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"b722470\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-34ddcaf elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"34ddcaf\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h6 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Key things to note about peace zones &amp; Clubs<\/h6>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-fd657c0 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"fd657c0\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0ddee84 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"0ddee84\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ol><li>As of now, there are not enough\u00a0<strong>Peace Zones\u00a0<\/strong>or\u00a0<strong>Peace Clubs\u00a0<\/strong>established in the\u00a0<strong>5 Targeted States<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Cities, LGA or Communities\u00a0<\/strong>that have been affected by\u00a0<strong>\u2018violent conflict\u2019\u00a0<\/strong>to sustain a Community based\u00a0<strong>Peace Initiative<\/strong>.<\/li><li><strong>Peace Zones\u00a0<\/strong>are Community based\u00a0<strong>\u2018safe places\u2019\u00a0<\/strong>where the Communities gather daily to enjoy\u00a0<strong>Basketball\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Peace making\u00a0<\/strong>activities.<\/li><li><strong>Peace Zones\u00a0<\/strong>are used as\u00a0<strong>\u2018sites\u2019\u00a0<\/strong>to identify\u00a0<strong>Youth\u00a0<\/strong>for more \u2018<strong>training\u2019\u00a0<\/strong>by\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usaid.gov\/\">USAID<\/a>\/IFESH\/CALM &amp; BB4P<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Peace Clubs\u00a0<\/strong>are sensitizing\u00a0<strong>\u2018students\u2019\u00a0<\/strong>about and for\u00a0<strong>Peace\u00a0<\/strong>and through their various\u00a0<strong>\u2018out-reach projects\u2019\u00a0<\/strong>sensitizing their communities about the need for\u00a0<strong>PEACEFUL Co-existence<\/strong>.<\/li><li><strong>Peace Zones are\u00a0<\/strong>registering with their Local Government Areas, or States as\u00a0<strong>NGOs<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>\u2018co-operatives\u2019\u00a0<\/strong>to initiate economically viable activities for success.<\/li><li>The<strong>\u00a0BB4P \u201cFund Raising Cards\u201d\u00a0<\/strong>gives each<strong>\u00a0Peace Zone and Peace Club\u00a0<\/strong>a means to acquire some funds for their activities.<\/li><li><strong>BB4P Peace Clubs\u00a0<\/strong>have been recognized by the\u00a0<strong>Plateau State Commissioner of Education\u00a0<\/strong>to the extent that\u00a0<strong>Peace Clubs\u00a0<\/strong>have been made compulsory in all the Plateau State secondary schools. We believe every\u00a0<strong>State<\/strong>\u00a0should follow-suit.<\/li><li>The name\u00a0<strong>BB4P\u00a0<\/strong>has attracted a lot of attention both in the media and the Basketball Community. If exploited to its full potential of having\u00a0<strong>Bi-annual State and National BB4P \u2018Competitions\u2019\u00a0<\/strong>many more\u00a0<strong>Youth\u00a0<\/strong>stand to profit from their\u00a0<strong>\u2018sweat\u2019.<\/strong><\/li><li>The most relevant factor about the\u00a0<strong>Peace Zones\u00a0<\/strong>as expressed by the\u00a0<strong>\u201cFounders\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0is the networking that should make every\u00a0<strong>Peace Zone<\/strong>\u00a0to compete against another\u00a0<strong>Peace Zone<\/strong>, a minimum of once in every month.<\/li><li>The\u00a0<strong>BB4P Nigeria Network\u00a0<\/strong>is now made-up of\u00a0<strong>5 States\u00a0<\/strong>with requests from\u00a0<strong>6 more States\u00a0<\/strong>to join.<\/li><li>The\u00a0<strong>BB4P Africa Network\u00a0<\/strong>is yet to be formed but it is our desire to see it established in the near future because\u00a0<strong>PEACE must reign<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>communities affected by violent conflict must<\/strong>\u00a0find ways to\u00a0<strong>heal<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ol>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-dac047e e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"dac047e\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-551b1a4 elementor-widget elementor-widget-image\" data-id=\"551b1a4\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"image.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"250\" src=\"https:\/\/bb4p.org\/sites\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/slideshow3-1.jpg\" class=\"attachment-large size-large wp-image-1188\" alt=\"slideshow3\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bb4p.org\/sites\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/slideshow3-1.jpg 640w, https:\/\/bb4p.org\/sites\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/slideshow3-1-300x117.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" title=\"The relevance of bb4p peace zones and peace clubs\">\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Key things to note about peace zones &amp;
