This initiative addressed a critical gap in the Nigerian basketball landscape: the need for formal, recognizable qualifications for technical officers responsible for training the nation&#8217;s athletes.<\/p><h5 data-path-to-node=\"2\">A Comprehensive Training Framework<\/h5><p data-path-to-node=\"3\">The CCBC program was designed to be both rigorous and accessible to working professionals. Spanning a total of <b data-path-to-node=\"3\" data-index-in-node=\"111\">three months<\/b>, the curriculum was divided into two distinct phases:<\/p><ul data-path-to-node=\"4\"><li><p data-path-to-node=\"4,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"4,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Six Weeks of Contact Period:<\/b> Intensive classroom and practical sessions held on weekends (Fridays and Saturdays) to accommodate part-time students.<\/p><\/li><li><p data-path-to-node=\"4,1,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"4,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Six Weeks of Field Work:<\/b> A practical phase where aspiring coaches applied their learned techniques in real-world coaching environments.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><h5 data-path-to-node=\"5\">Admission and Professional Standards<\/h5><p data-path-to-node=\"6\">The university set clear benchmarks to ensure a high standard of participants. The minimum requirement for entry was a <b data-path-to-node=\"6\" data-index-in-node=\"119\">SSCE\/GCE O\/L certificate<\/b>, though possessing a recognized diploma or degree was considered a distinct advantage. Recognizing the value of practical skill, the program also opened its doors to individuals with a <b data-path-to-node=\"6\" data-index-in-node=\"329\">proven &#8220;good knowledge\/experience in basketball,&#8221;<\/b> even if they lacked formal academic credentials.<\/p><p data-path-to-node=\"7\">The financial commitment for the 2018\/2019 session included:<\/p><ul data-path-to-node=\"8\"><li><p data-path-to-node=\"8,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"8,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Application Fee:<\/b> N5,300 (including bank charges).<\/p><\/li><li><p data-path-to-node=\"8,1,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"8,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Tuition Fee:<\/b> N60,000.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><h5 data-path-to-node=\"9\">Impact on Nigerian Basketball<\/h5><p data-path-to-node=\"10\">By housing this coaching certificate within the Institute of Education, ABU Zaria transitioned basketball coaching from a purely experiential &#8220;former player&#8221; model to an academic discipline. This program provided &#8220;Want-a-be Coaches&#8221; with a <b data-path-to-node=\"10\" data-index-in-node=\"240\">Minimum Recognizable Qualification<\/b>, instilling the self-confidence needed to effectively develop Nigerian basketball players for national and international success.<\/p><p data-path-to-node=\"11\">This academic endeavor, signed off by <b data-path-to-node=\"11\" data-index-in-node=\"38\">C.E.
